TURNER SPORTS
- Ron Darling will serve as a TBS MLB game analyst, alongside play-by-play announcer Chip Caray, for a portion of the network’s MLB on TBS Sunday games.
- In 2007, Darling was a color analyst for TBS' coverage of the 2007 MLB playoffs.
CAREER
- Since 2006, Darling has served as a game and studio analyst for SportsNet New York coverage of the Mets. He won a 2006 Emmy Award for best "Sports Analyst".
- Darling served as the color commentator for the Washington Nationals on Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) for the 2005 season.
- Prior to working at MASN, Darling served as an on-air analyst for Fox Sports Net, as well as appeared on The Best Damn Sports Show Period, the National Sports Report and Baseball Today. He has also provided analysis for the YES Network and CSTV.
- An 13-year veteran of MLB, Darling was a pitcher during a playing career that included time with the Oakland Athletics, Montreal Expos and the New York Mets, who he won a World Championship with in 1986.
- Originally drafted by the Texas Rangers with the 9th overall pick of the 1981 amateur draft, Darling was a member of the 1985 NL All-Star team and won a NL Gold Glove in 1989.
Personal
A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Darling attended Yale University where he was a two-time All-American - leading the Bulldogs to two Ivy League titles.
Darling resides in Manhattan with his family.
